CD-Rs > Cakewalk Pyro 2005 (giant wav files onto HD here) > Cakewalk Pyro 2005 (track wav files here) > Trader's Little Helper wav to flac (encode level 8 (aligned on sector boundaries)) Quality - 8-9/10 very good plus to excellent minus audience recording 18 tracks, 83:12 This is the ENTIRE concert. CD 1 - 8 tracks, 39:58 CD 2 - 10 tracks, 43:14 The taper gave me this tape over 18 years ago. I was present at the show and am familiar with the venue so here is a brief description of the concert tape: 1) As mentioned above, this recording is complete. 2) The audience is very well-behaved. There is very little talking and shouting close to the taper and the music volume tends to drown virtually all of it out. No whistling or screaming. 3) There is no distortion present. There are no speed problems or any other serious faults to prevent you from enjoying this show. There is no hiss. 4) This is a very clear recording. The instruments come through clearly and distinctly. The vocals are almost always clear (hey, this is Bob !). There is almost no stage banter (hey, this is Bob !) I know that the taper was very close to the stage at this venue. I graded this show an 8-9/10 because the sound is a bit thin and the recording itself is not very loud. This was the first time that I ever saw Bob Dylan and it was very interesting. He seemed to speak or chant the lyrics with odd inflections and stresses on certain words rather than to sing the lyrics. His delivery was rambunctious and belligerent, like he wanted you to jump on stage so he could kick your ass. I thought he was great ! I've seen him about a dozen times now, all over the country. An American prophet... 5) Just a brief heads-up : This is the second time that I used Trader's Little Helper to convert wav to flac and also the second time that I converted wav to flac with the "align to sector boundaries" option activated. Everything should have gone well. (I didn't reconvert flac to wav, burn to CD and listen to the product). There should be no ticks between tracks. I'm positive that I did everything correctly. I've previously used Flac Frontend for wav to flac with no problems and didn't use the align to sector boundaries option. 6) Two brief requests: 1) If you have a high-grade version of this show, please upload it or PM me, send me a copy & I'll upload it. 2) If you have a high-grade version of Rory Gallagher at The Bottom Line, NY, NY September 6, 1979 ~ 86 min. FM, PLEASE up it or trade me a copy. I've been looking for that show for 20 years and I can't find it. So there you have it. This is the raw recording that I've had lo these many years. I changed NOTHING about this recording except to track it and to isolate a very short section of audience applause (track 15). Keep it in or leave it out of your completed CDs. No music is missing. That's about all that I can think of to say, so let's wrap this up. Finally, no buy, no sell, no mp3. Please seed this as long as you can. Please trade this freely as it probably is uncirculated. This show will be a welcome addition to almost any Dylan fan's collection. I will post a sample to help some of you decide whether or not to download it. As you can see, the setlist is fantastic. The song titles are correct. So, as Mr. Natural is so fond of saying, have fun, don't freak out and enjoy the concert !
