BOB DYLAN - "BORDER BENEATH THE SUN : DEFINITIVE EDITION" (Thinman 012/013) LINEAGE: Original Thinman silvers -> WAV (EAC v0.99 prebeta 5 - secure, Offset "actual") -> FLAC (flacfrontend, level 6) -> You DATE: Pavilon De Paris, Paris, France July 6th 1978 QUALITY: Excellent Audience COMMENTS: Absolutely essential listen - performance and quality is incredible. One of the best recordings of 1978. All Paris shows were excellent, allthough the first (July 3rd) and the last (July 8th) were probably the finest ones (performancewise). But this July 6th show is Paris show which is captured in the best quality of the 5. Think I've listened through this bootleg about 90 times....never get tired of it Personal favourites on this "Border Beneath The Sun" concert is Mr Tambourine Man, It's All Over Now baby Blue, Changing Of The Guards and True Love Tends To Forget....or actually, there's even more highlights here. Strange that a lot of people live in the belief that 1978 was a so-so "live year" for Dylan; due to the official "At Budokan" (recorded in early 1978). Bob's performances in Europe and US in June-Dec 1978 were exceptional, while the early stage of the tour (Japan and Australia) was not comparable at all to what Dylan and his band transformed it to after a few months on the road. (IMO) Here's hoping that Dylan will release a 1978 show in a forthcoming "Bootleg Series" -release.....if I could pick and choose, I'd say Blackbushe July 15th. COMMENTS #2: I bought this Thinman bootleg, just before getting into torrents. After that, I realised that this "thinman-release" is a copy of LB-4717 (which JackTomThumb uploaded to Dime). Soundquality is the very same. From what I understand; this is a great upgrade of the bootleg title "Border Beneath The Sun" (without the "Definitive Edition" thing)....then again, I never heard that old bootleg In other words....if you allready have LB-4717; you don't need this. If you don't...you better grab it fast Thanks to JackTomThumb for his original tape transfer and share. I've previously uploaded this bootleg to DIME, but this torrent here features a new (and more secure) rip. The music is of course the same.
