csb upgrade; "Wherever I'm Welcome is Where I'll Be", complete show, times = 68:53 / 63:07, new transfer from master tape - stereo upgrade, ================, Some notes about this recording & upgrade, Recorded and torrented by audiowhore, Linage: Core Sound Binaural mics > battery box > MiniDisc (Panasonic SJ-MR220) > Cool Edit Pro > CDr > FLAC > Dime, Recording location: Floor seats, 10th row, centre, I recorded this show but didn't have a computer at the time. My friend Pete transfered my MD to CDs, made about 80 copies, posted a message on the pool and promptly sent off the show to all who responded. Back in the snail-mail trading days, pretty much anyone who wanted this show had it within a few weeks of the performance thanks to Pete's generousity., About a year ago i pulled these discs out and realised that it was in mono. No one on CEDAR or anywhere i saw had ever pointed this out before. Unfortunately the transfer of my stereo recording was reduced to mono because of the wrong lead being used. Therefore, all circulating copies from my master will be in mono. There are apparently two versions of this show and mine corresponds to LB-902. If you have this show, please check to see if it's mono., Anyway, i did a new stereo transfer from the original MD, applied hard limiting to the sections of audience applause that were a bit loud and then tweaked with the sound slightly to improve its dynamics., So overall, i class this as a nice upgrade on what has always circulated from this show., Check out the sound samples and see what you think. To my ears it's a really solid recording with no flaws. The venue is a big concrete barn so the sound on the night was a bit boomy and this comes through in the recording but i'm sure everyone will be happy with the sound quality of this recording.
