gelston acetates, SOURCE: Acetates, LINEAGE: acetate > gen1 tape (see notes below) > CD-R (trade) > EAC wav (hard drive) > Trader's Little Helper flac level 8 & torrent > HungerCity, NOTES:, The last entry for 1986 at Searching For A Gem has details about the acetates including scans. "The Gelston Acetates" - 11 acetates brought on to the market by W. L. Gelston & Associates, Columbia (USA), 1986. All the acetates are single-sided 12" LPs, Reference Recordings from Columbia Studios, Nashville, TN., http://www.searchingforagem.com/1980s/1986.htm, The copies I received in trade @2000 include the following note on the back inlays, which are generic inserts, black typeface on a pale yellow background:, When Jacques van Son bought these ($7000?) he wouldn't make copies. He did however make a copy onto tape for me as he owed me a favour. In the early days he sold copies for a high price. The British collectors clubbed together for a copy, but IMHO it must have been re-dubbed for those who contributed (so the collectors only had a 2nd gen copy). I transferred my master copy A>D through my AWE64 card and did some minimal noise reduction., http://www.angelfire.com/wa/monicasdude/gelston1.htm, http://www.angelfire.com/wa/monicasdude/gelston2.htm, http://www.angelfire.com/wa/monicasdude/gelston3.htm, Gelston Acetates Vol.1, 1966-05-17 Free Trade Hall, Manchester, England has been officially released as The Bootleg Series Vol.4: Bob Dylan Live 1966, The Royal Albert Hall Concert and has therefore been omitted from this torrent., Visions Of Johanna from 1966-05-26 Royal Albert Hall was officially released on Biograph., Gelston Acetates Vol.2, The duplication of "It's All Over Now Baby Blue and Visions Of Johanna" has not been explained, and the tracks are not identical., Gelston Acetates Vol.3, Includes material that is not listed among the acetates as noted at Search For A Gem: 1966-04-19 Festival Hall, Melbourne, Australia; and 1966-05-20 ABC Theatre, Edinburgh, Scotland.
