version "e",, No recording or transfer information available., ################, Notes on this version:, LosslessBob has four entries for Akita 2001-02-28: LB-03905, LB-07471, LB-11343 and LB-14737. These are derived from three separate source recordings., In my collection, I have a different version of this show, likely acquired via a trade or vine. I don't have source information for the recording, which does not match any of the existing LB entries., As is usual with recordings of concerts in Japan, there's relatively little crowd noise. Although that's a great thing overall, it can make it more difficult to distinguish between captures. For example: because there's so few of them, and there isn't much background noise, the same shouts and cheers are picked up in all the recordings of this concert. Still, a close listen shows that such outbursts are at different directions and distances in relation to the various tapers, and that applies equally to this new version. (There's shout of "yeah" immediately after the first few words of Blowin' In The Wind. If you go to the different recordings, you hear it coming from different places.), The main distinguishing feature of this new recording, however, is that it has a fuller, more upfront sound than the others. It's definitely an upgrade IMO., Points to note:, - I've removed micro-gaps from the end of most tracks., - No obvious sign of compression or processing & only a small amount of clipping., - Some tracks have low levels. In the case of Girl From The North Country, I judged it was too quiet and applied an uplift of 30%. (This still leaves it at a lower level than the rest of the show.), - I've reduced the silences at the beginning and end of the concert., - There is a fade out and back in between Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat and Love Sick, marking the original disc split. I've tied this up a bit., - There was a gap of about 1/4 of a second in Tryin' To Get To Heaven, at about 3:12, preceded by a buzz. Comparison with other recordings shows the silence is a true loss rather than simply a digital artifact. I've closed the gap and reduced the buzz, but not attempted any patching., - There may be a buzz at about 3:49 in If Dogs Run Free. As this is after the music has finished, I left things as they were., - A buzz at about 5:06 in Blowin' In The Wind. I reduced the impact of this., The recording was normalised and then retracked, separating out the concert introduction., No remastering was attempted (beyond the fixes and level adjustment described here)., Some simple cover art is included, with the images taken from Dylanstubs.com and bobdylan-comewritersandcritics.com., Enjoy, Bhoy, Mar 2026
